Shae-Lin

2014 was a great year for Shae-lin showing the results of hard work and dedication on her gymnastics and dance routines.

Shae-lin competed her level 8 season in gymnastics with Gymmax in Costa Mesa. She won five Gold medals on beam throughout the season and three Gold medals on floor. She won 3rd place All Around at the state meet which qualified her to compete as a team member on the State team at the regional meet which would compete against the top level 8 gymnasts from 5 states. She got got Gold on beam at the regional meet and Silver on floor! This was very exciting!!!! She also placed in the top 100 gymnastics in the nation for her balance beam score of 9.700.

Shae-lin also had a great year in dance at West Coast School of the Arts. Her solos “Turn To Stone” by Carlee Puffer and “Eclipse” by Brynne Becker were full of energy, flexibility, turns and power!

“Turn to Stone” placed 4th overall at the regional Showstoppers earning her placement in the Showstoppers opening number for the America Loves to Dance Broadcast and national finals.

She also won 8th overall at the National finals with both dances, quite an accomplishment since this was her first year competing as a teen at Showstoppers and having to go against 300 teen soloists from 12-14 years old. “Eclipse” her open dance won 1st place overall at Spotlight dance

nationals!! She was also awarded the “Technique excellence award.” Her team dances won Crystal awards and her trio placed 6th overall at the Showstoppers Nationals.

To end the season, Shae-lin got to dance in the Nutcracker for her first time ever! How fun and exciting that was!! It was Pacific Coast Academy of Dance’s version under the direction of Michael Houston.

She played the part of the “Genie Doll” and “Russian Girl Dancer”. hey even got to perform at the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach. That was so different and so fun for her. I can’t wait for next year!

Shae-lin is looking forward to 2015 and competing level 9 and 2 new solos! We thank and appreciate all her wonderful teachers and coaches and all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Thank you for following her progress and checking in on her website. See you in 2015!!!!
